Description

"NEW YORK (UPI)- A pregnant woman shot through the hand at Yankee Stadium July 4th was in good condition Saturday, but said she was not likely to attend another baseball game.
Joan Barrett, 34, was shot by an unknown assailant as she sat in the stands at the Twins-Yankees game with her husband and two young sons.
The bullet pierced her right hand and fractured her ring finger, requiring a cast and intravenous antibiotic treatments, said officials at Montefiore Hospital. She was expected to be released Sunday.
Doctors said the wound would not impair Barrett’s pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Bronx detectives reported no new leads on the shooting.
The woman, who said her family were Yankee Stadium regulars, questioned whether she would go to another game. She also said she wasn’t sure she wanted her husband or sons to return to the ball park.
In addition, Barrett charged she waited 10 minutes but received no help from stadium personnel- and then walked down two ramps to a first-aid station on her own.
Barrett said she had changed seats with her son Sean just minutes before the bullet was fired. She said she heard the shot before realizing it hit her."
