"Special to the Christian Science Monitor, Philadelphia designed to prevent a repetition of the Fourth of July fatality and accident toll, a bill prohibiting individual use of fireworks has been introduced in the House of Representatives at (Harrisburg), Pa. by Representative Benjamin K. Long of Philadelphia. The measure would provide permits for civic display but would make it unlawful to sell within the state any form of fireworks unless a permit was issued by local authorities."
