"For the Pleasure Seekers July 3, 1925
Through the wise work of Mr. A.F. McClinton, the Arthur Robinson Orchestra has the contracted to furnish music for the Morris Hall this season. They play real music and will be the best entertainer of the city. They are well known throughout Oklahoma, and to hear them once will draw you back.
They will render their opening program July 4.
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Brown and Mrs. B. Flerry, of Kansas City, were visitors in the city for several days with relatives. They were enroute to Colo.
Mrs. Belle Smothers of Arkansas City, who has been visiting in the city, has returned home.
Mrs. Geo. Payne of Newton, was a visitor in the city during the week on a business trip.
Miss Ada Patterson, after a visit with relatives in the city, has returned to her home in Baxter Springs.
The funeral of Mrs. Emma Williams 1643 N. Mosely, was conducted from the St. Mary Baptist Church. Rev J.E. Douglas and others othciating. Mrs. Williams was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graves on Shelton Ave. She leaves many sisters, brothers, relatives and friends. Citizen’s Mortuary in charge.
Mrs. G.E. Anderson of Pittsburg, Kans., is in the city visiting daughter Capitola Bonner, one of the efficient secretaries of the National Benefit Insurance Company. We hope for her a pleasant stay.
Miss Bertha Webb of Beaumount, Tex., is the guest of The Negro Star Pub Co., at breakfast Monday morning.
Mr. Fred McCann and son Clinton of Dover, Okla., were in the office Saturday evening.
Mr. E.M. Barnes is in Chicago, Ill., attending the Mechanical School, taking some post-graduate work.
Rev. and Mrs. N.B Copeland served a delicious dinner for Rev. and Mrs. R.T. Sims Wednesday evening.
Mrs. F.D. Dorsey and niece, Miss Harris, were in the office Tuesday evening.
Mr. Kelley of Birmingham, Ala., were here attending Congress, came out to see us and told us of our friends Prof. and Mrs. A.J. Topp who are now residing in his home town [sic]. We were very glad to have Mr. Kelley out."
