Miss Lois Marie Edwards is visiting in Chicago. . . . The Esther Circle met in the home of Miss Lucy Howard, 1306 N. Valentine. $5.00 was devoted for the M. W. Gibbs home. The circle visited Mrs. Neal Brown July 8th who is ill. Mrs. Mary Wynn is the president. . . The spring drive at the Pilgrim Baptist Church ended June 30th. The total amount raised was $685.55. Rev. J. B. Barnes is the pastor. . . The Little Rock Night Hawks won a double header Sunday against Cabot and North Little. The Night Hawks played in Hot Springs July 4th. The Little Rock line-up was as follow: Thomas, right field; Newsum, second base; F. Threet, short stop; F. Cooley, first base; M Threet, Catcher; H. Hack, left field; Nickel, center field; Melvin, second base; Green, pitcher; Robert Heygood, manager."
