"July 4th parade: The following entrants in the colored division of the Lake Village Water carnival parade were announced this week: Police – official cars band – Sacred Heart; Greenville float – WCC Lake Village marching team; Eudora colored hi school; Home Demonstration club and Lake Village marching team; 4 – H club, Lake Village: Lake Village Clock club, Special attraction – Little Milton’s Orchestra; Marching team, VFW, Greenville band; Central hi school, Lake Village; American legion, Lake Village; Lake Village horses…The Chicot country council of the Home demonstration clubs met at 10 a.m. July 2 at the extension office wit the attendance of 50 ladies. Demonstration of rug was given by Readland and Midway clubs. Dermott HD was in chard of refreshments…Revival services will be held at New Hope MB church beginning July t…Communion services held July 3 at Christian Liberty MB church… The funeral of Mrs. Jamie Lilton was held Sunday, July 3: Mrs. Lilton passed away June 27. after an illness of two months…Mrs. R. Harris, Lows Angeles, is here visiting relatives and friends…Mrs. Annie Coz has returned to her home in Chicago."
