Title

"Boogie Woogie on St. Louis Blues"

Description

"Thant [sic] man and his band are coming and we mean none other than that great showman Earl “Father”
Hines, and his great NBC broadcasting orchestra returning to Chicago at the savoy ballroom, south
parkway at 47 street, on the Fourth of July!
Earl Hines’ dance orchestra is “Home again” on the south side at the savoy after a coast-to-coast
tour during which time “Father” Hines tickled the toes of the nation’s dancers at the most famous and
leading night clubs, theatres and dancing spots of country.
Elaborate plans are being made to welcome dancers and Earl Hines at the savoy the night of the
Fourth of July. With many extra-special surprises and novelties in addition to the dancing. Leading
celebrities in the city are expected to attend to pay tribute to “Father” Hines in the royal manner he
deserves.
Father Hines’ latest recording of Boogie Woogie on the St. Louis Blues in breaking all record,
according to the Blues Bird Recording company. Earl will play this hit melody as well as many of his old
and new favorites.
The Savoy will be decked out in the real American spirit to celebrate the Fourth July with Earl
Hines and his orchestra, and the management proudly proclaims is in full swing the parade of nation’s
hit bands being booked for savoy dance lovers."
