"Physical Director Crawford has been busy all week circulating hundreds of entry blanks among the athletes of the city, signing them up annual Y.M.C.A. track and field meet at the Beutner grounds on July 4. Word from Capt. Pitts of the English regiment gives assurance of a strong team from that organization. Playgrounds, clubs and Sunday schools will also be respresnted. Ribbons, gold medals and the Crawford cup are being put up to stimulate interest in the competition."
