Description

“Mrs. Dr. Arthur Hicks has just returned home from a very pleasant vacation. She spent two weeks visiting friends and relatives in Fort Smith. Ark. and Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Drs. J. V. Jordan and H. A. Powell and Mr. Louis Gray of all Little Rock sponsored a Fish Fry and Bridge Party in honor of the members and their friends of the Stag Club at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Hicks at Scott.
After the disposal of seventy-five pounds of fish together with refreshments of various kinds everyone turned their attention to the competitive marksmanship on the rifle range. Dr. H. Brown was winner of the rifle division. Dr. G. W. S. Ish won second place. Mr. Louis Gray was all in a class to himself as a trick marksman. He made several shots that were thrillers with his gun in different position, upside etc. In the division using automatics, Mr. Bruce-Moore was easily number one marks-man, Dr. Elliot the second and Dr. G. F. Jackson the third. After having enjoyed a very pleasant fourth of July in the rurals, everyone left early enough to reach their homes before night thereby clearing the road before traffic densed. Speaking of Fish Frying it would be an injustice not to mention our old friend, Mr. Henry Harper aided by his wife, both known to be very best on cooking and preparing all kinds of meats and serving Picnic Dinners within the entire State. So he was voted number one by the ladies of the party.”
