"LA GRANGE, Ill., July 19- Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barbee gave a Fourth of July social at their home.
Joseph Robinson and daughter, and Miss McCloud, Miss Geraldine Betts and friends of Morgan Park visited friends in La Grange Sunday.
Ed. Martin, Mr. Hackley, Joe Torian, and Henry Powell went on a fishing trip Sunday.
Mrs. Kate Thomas has returned from her home in Vidalia, La,. to spend the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard J. Sims: with her came Dorothy Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Johnson.
Charles Porter of Chicago visited the Hugh H. Anderson family last week. Mrs. Sarah Garrett has returned from Indianapolis, Ind. James Irving is still sick.
The 14th annual picnic given by the Western Star Lodge was given at Bergman Grove July 11. All the proceeds were turned over to the children’s home in Rock Island. Humphrey Nelson was chairman of the committee.
Miss Juanita Porter of Chicago spent the week-end [sic] with the Walker Poe family of Downers Grove, Ill. Mrs. Minnie Carr and Jackie Jackson, daughter of Mrs. Mary Jackson, have returned from visiting relatives and friends in Decatur. Mrs. Hack, mother of Misses Leila Hack of Le Grange and Lottie Hack of Chicago, has returned to Decatur. The Modern Matrons Bridge Club met at the home of Miss Ruth Williams Tuesday."
