"Claiming the dubious distinction of being the most belated victims of a Fourth of July prank, two men and a woman were burned and bruised about the legs Friday night by a giant fire-cracker.
Those injured when the cracker exploded in a store at 223 East Fifty-first street, were Miss Juanita Goins, 26, of 663 East Fiftieth street; William Stewart, 31, of the same address, and Thomas Smith, 24, of 112 East Forty-ninth street.
The prankster, Charles Saunders of 126 East Fifty-second street, was taken into police custody and was being held pending outcome of the victims’ conditions."
