Description

"The Chicago Defender employees celebrated Fourth of July by going to Abbottsford, country home of Mrs. Robert S. Abbott, Benton Harbor, Mich., for a picnic. They arranged to have wives, husbands and friends motor up for the day. Over 100 persons enjoyed games and other forms of socializing. Many came quite early in the day, enjoying a delicious breakfast. In the early afternoon, all gathered around a huge table where dinner was served picnic style.
