"Mrs. Mary E. Giles, 48, 607 N. Spring Street, was shot in the right forearm July 4th by a stray bullet as she sat on her front porch watching fireworks. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where it was found that her condition was serious due to shock. Officers were not able to learn who fired the stray shot."
