It is not generally known that Saturday of last week was the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of freedom to the colored people of these United States. Some day, [sic] possibly we will get it into our heads that such occasions should be properly celebrated, much the same as the Fourth of July is now celebrated by all the citizens of this United States."
