Title

Fourteen-Year-Old Boy Is Victim of Fourth, p. A8

Description

The first victim of the Fourth of July, according to police, is 14-year-old Irvin Stewart, who died in a Woodbury, N.J., hospital Tuesday of tetanus. A week ago young Stewart and several companions obtained some blank cartridges and borrowed a pistol. One of his fingers became powder burned in firing the pistol, but he paid no attention to his injuries at the time. Symptoms of tetanus appeared a few days later. The youth was rushed to a hospital, where attempts to save his life by feeding him liquid food through a glass tube failed.
